New Engines Due to Arrive Soon

New Pumper under constructionDespite the recent delivery of the new Rescue 1, the apparatus committee is still busy working with KME on the production of 5 new pumpers. Engine 13 is slated to receive the first of the new rigs. Company 13 had not received a new rig since 1976 when a bright "Lime Yellow" Hammerly engine was delivered.

The delivery of the other 4 rigs are slated to go to Engines Companies 1, 9, 3, 11. All vehicle are expected to be here in December, with engine 13 to be here sometime after Thanksgiving.

The current apparatus of Engine 3 will be placed in service at Engine 14 after the New Station at Schlegel Park is constructed. After 20 years, Engine 14 will be in service with a 1500 gpm, 500 gallon tank, class A pumper.

3 current pumpers will be moved into reserve status:

Engine 1 (1996 Saulsbury) - Reserve Engine 2

Engine 9 (1996 Saulsbury) - Reserve Engine 8

Engine 11 (1999 KME) - Reserve Engine 12

The future of the remaining apparatus has not yet been determined
