One year has passed since the death of Officer Scott Wertz who was killed in the performance of his duties as a Reading Police Officer.
In memory of Officer Wertz, the Scott Wertz Memorial Ride will be held today starting at Noon. The ride begins at Classic Harley Davidson and will end at FirstEnergy Stadium for the Battle of the Badges Softball Game. The "Battle of the Badges" series, Reading Fire vs Reading Police, continues with the 2nd annual charity softball game to be played at First Energy Stadium on August 5, 2007. The game will be played before the Reading Phillies home game against the Binghamton Mets.

Time: " Battle" game RPD vs. RFD starts at 3:45 PM – Gates Open - 3:30 PM (Reading Phillies vs. Binghamton Mets follows at 6:05 PM )
Tickets: One ticket good for both games - $6 per ticket – General Admission seating (Grandstands for the " Battle" game, and bleacher seating for the Reading Phillies game)
Ticket availability: Please see the Fire Marshal or any RFD team player a.s.a.p. for tickets to the games.
The proceeds of the ticket sales go directly to the charity organizations listed.
