Five teams from four area Berks County Fire Departments gathered for a day of softball at the Angelica fields for what is becoming an annual event. Two teams from Reading and players from Birdsboro, Reiffton and Sinking Spring battled it out on the diamonds for nearly 7 hours before the "B Shift Stingers" emerged victorious with a 4/0 record.
After the games the teams and fans then got together for lunch and socializing.
The organizers are hoping to ask more local departments to participate in another game in the near future.
