Officers recently traveled once again to the KME plant to view the progress on the department's next tractor-drawn ladder truck. Once work to the predator cab is completed, it will be sent to another facility to be mounted onto a chassis then mated to a trailor for the aerial ladder. The rig is slated for assignment to Ladder 3. There is no definitive delivery date as of yet.

Reading Firefighters will now be seen wearing the department's new patch. Along with the new patch all members were recently fitted with a "Class A" uniform. In addition, department duty-wear has been updated to reflect the new look of the patch along with a Philadelphia style button-down dark blue work shirt.
