Firefighter Robert 'Snorkel Bob' Luckenbill Sr.Our condolences go out to the family of Retired Firefighter Robert J. Luckenbill, Sr. who passed away on October 5, 2008. "Snorkel Bob" last worked the B Platoon on Snorkel 1, retiring in February of 1992.

Ladder 3 Progress PDF Print E-mail

Officers recently traveled once again to the KME plant to view the progress on the department's next tractor-drawn ladder truck. Once work to the predator cab is completed, it will be sent to another facility to be mounted onto a chassis then mated to a trailor for the aerial ladder. The rig is slated for assignment to Ladder 3. There is no definitive delivery date as of yet.

New Patch & Uniforms for Department! PDF Print E-mail

firstprecinctreadingfiredept99-tt001944a.jpgReading Firefighters will now be seen wearing the department's new patch. Along with the new patch all members were recently fitted with a "Class A" uniform. In addition, department duty-wear has been updated to reflect the new look of the patch along with a Philadelphia style button-down dark blue work shirt.

Firefighters Remembered

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) and the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Fire Administration announce that the 27th annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend will be held October 4-5, 2008. Flags are to be flown at half staff on Sunday October 5, 2008.
