At 0010 hours, units were sent to 952 N. 10th St for a possible kitchen fire on the second floor of a multi-unit apartment building. Units on the box were Eng's 9, 11, 1, 13 safety, Ladder 3, Rescue 1, 601, and Car 3. Engine 9 arrived on location and reported nothing showing from the exterior. Once the door of the apartment in question was located, crews encountered heavy smoke conditions inside. A working fire was announced and a line was stretched.

A fire was found on the floor of the kitchen and extending up the wall. The fire was knocked down as crews searched and ventilated simultaneously. Searches were negative and the walls were opened up to check for extension. No injuries were reported and crews cleared the scene approximately a half-hour later.
