Box 81 was dispatched early this afternoon for a reported fire at 128 West Oley Street. According to reports, a family at home at the time was alerted to a fire by a smoke detector. Firefighters arrived and discovered a small fire in a basement closet. The fire was extinguished within a few minutes and the home cleared of smoke. The Fire Marshal responded and is investigating the possibility of an electrical malfunction.

also today, a vehicle caught fire on Fairview Street this morning around 10:00 after the operator contiously 'spun the tires' in an attempt to get out of a parking space. According to FF M. Lessar, from Engine 13, the fire actually began after the exaust overheated after being blocked by the snow. The Fire Marshal's office investigated.
