At 04:19 this morning, Box 72 was Struck for a working kitchen fire at 162 No Front Street, a middle of the row 3 story residence. Engine 3 was first on the scene and reported heavy smoke out the front door and pulled an 1& 3/4" handline. Ladder 1 laddered the 2nd and 3rd floors and ventilated. Tower 1 assisted with ventilation in the rear and access also.

The fire started in the rear Kitchen area and found its way up to the second floor through wood pipe chases that burned through. A second handline was taken to the upper floor and overhaul was done on both floors to the ceiling and wall areas.

The low temps, of course, made walking difficult just outside the structure. E-13, E-5, R-1, Med-601, and E-11 safety were also on scene working. C-10 (FM), C-22 Safety, along with C-2 and C-8.?One injury from glass falling while the F/F was grounding a ladder, large piece of Glass cut through his Bunker pants and he needed 3 stitches in his leg immediately. Another neck injury also was reported from searching the upper floors. The Crews went available from the scene just after 6AM and the Fire Marshal is investigating.
