Two working fires within minutes of each other broke out this morning on opposite ends of the city. Firefighters were called out just before 05:00 to the area of 12th and Spring Streets. A vehicle in an alley off the 1200 blk of Locust Street was fully involved and had spread to a nearby structure before firefighters could bring it under control.

Shortly after, another fire was reported in the 700 blk of Bingaman Street. Heavy fire was reported on arrival at a dwelling that reportedly had burned before. Multiple lines were in service. Fire spread to the 2nd floor of the structure before being brought under control.

The Fire marshal has ruled both fires suspicious and an investigation is continuing. All city companies were in service and recall was initiated. There were no reports of injuries or residents displaced. Thanks to FF T. Leszczynski and Cheryl Rupp for sending us the photos.
