Rescue tones woke companies early this morning when a wreck was dispatched for 5th & Marion Streets. Engine 11, Rescue 1, and Medic 601 & Medic 602 were sent. Engine 11 arrived with 2 vehicles, in a T-Bone collision. 1 driver was still confined in the car, which had suffered 12+ inches in driver's side intrusion. The rescue company went in service immediately with the Hurst System removing the front drivers side door. The patient was removed on a backboard and transported to Reading Hospital Trauma Center. The Driver of the second vehicle was transported for minor injuries to Reading Hospital as well. Car 7 had command.

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) and the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Fire Administration announce that the 27th annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend will be held October 4-5, 2008. Flags are to be flown at half staff on Sunday October 5, 2008.
