The Red Cross was called to assist victims displaced by a fire in 300 block of Heckmans Court this evening. Box 45 was struck around 17:30 for the fire. Companies arriving found fire blowing out the first floor rear of one of the two dwellings in the tiny block to the rear of Mulberry Street.

Crews made quick work of extinguishing the fire that extended to the 2nd floor and slightly damaged the exposure. Car 23 was on location and investigating. The fire appeared to originate in the kitchen area. One firefighter was transported to the hospital for an injury.
