Box 62, 8th and Greenwich Streets, was transmitted at 1129 hrs for a reported kitchen fire at 517 Cedar Street assigned to the box where E-8(9), E-1, E13, E-11(safety) L-3 , Tw-1, R-1, M604, Cars 3 and 6. Engine 1, already on the street from a previous AFA, arrived and assumed first due. The crew reported a 2 1/2 story middle of the row dwelling with heavy smoke from the first floor.

Truck company searching came across heavy fire in the kitchen. Engine 1 stretched a line in and knocked the fire down with minimal extension. Searches where negative and building was vented. Companies took up after about 45 min. Fire marshal's office is investigating.
