With calls pouring into the communications, Box 515 was transmitted
for 700 Crescent Ave around 1230 hours. Engine 9 reported a column
of smoke right after leaving the station. First due companies found
fire through the roof of a duplex. A line was stretched with crews
having to deploy a ladder into the attic. Ladder crews found a truss
roof, which caused most of the roof work to be done from Ladder 3's
main. The fire was under control in 30 minutes with overhaul.
