Firefighters Searfoss & Lerch just completed 2 programs at the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy last week. The Academy's firefighting programs feature a tiered 4 course system. The program begins with Engine Company Operations at Residential Structure Fires, Then Moves to Firefighting at Large Structures. Students in the 3 course form into companies to apply skills learned from the 1st & 2nd programs. The 4th course involves students who have completed the officer skill program, who then function as the officers for the 3rd course students.

Firefighter Searfoss has completed the entire program with successful completion as an acting officer.

Firefighter Lerch completed the 3rd course, and is already making plans to attend the officers program.
