With the department on day 2 of Tech Rescue training, Box 428 was tapped for multiple calls received for 319 Cedar street. At the same time, an alarm for RACC was received as well as an EMS assist for lifting of an obese patient. The training group was dumped and, companies were reassigned to the multiple incidents.

Engine 1 arrived and found the dwelling in the middle of the block with smoke showing from all openings. Upon entry crews found fire on the 1st floor and the basement. A second line was stretched immediatley to handle the fire on the 1st & 2nd floors. Eventually, a 3rd line was stretched due to fire travel throughout the balloon frame dwelling.

The stubborn fire was placed under control at 1511 hrs, almost 1 hour after the initial dispatch. FF's J. Lerch &  L. Moyer sustained minor injuries and required transport to the hospital.  The Fire Marshal's office is investigating.

On The Box:

Engines - 1, 8 (9), 12 (5), 13

Ladders - 1 , Snorkel (3)

Rescue 1, Medic's 1, 4, 6,  Car's 1,2,23
