An 85 year old woman was displaced from her home at 1312 North 13th Street following a two alarm fire this morning. Firefighters responded to box 627 at 10:32 hrs and reported smoke showing from the Ninth and Marion Station and heavy fire from the first floor of the duplex upon arrival. Flames were blowing out the front windows into the partially enclosed porch area and began extending next door. Car 4 struck second alarm within minutes after arriving. A line was pulled and stretched into the residence. A second 1 3/4" handline was advanced to the fire building after the attack line was burned through by debris on the porch. A third handline, advanced to exposure four, was not used.

Car 4 reported the bulk of the fire knocked down shortly after the second alarm was dispatched and fire under control at 10:47 hrs. The home at 1314 North 13th suffered fire damage to the porch ceiling and smoke throughout the structure. The resident was transported to Reading Hospital as a Class 2, reports stated the victim suffered burns over 10% of her body. A passerby noticed the fire inside the dwelling and assisted the victim. The Fire Marshal responded and is continuing his investigation. Thanks to FF J. Weber for sending us the photos, a video of the incident was also sent in to us by Tony Miccicke and is on our Media Page, thanks for allowing us to share this, Tony.
