c-vehicle-fire005cvr.jpgEngine 3 and Car 3 were dispatched at 14:44 this afternoon for a reported vehicle fire. Upon arrival they found an engine compartment of a vehicle parked at the curb fully involved. The trash line was pulled by the crewman and the fire was attacked. During the operation, the fuel line ruptured and flaming gasoline flowed down the street next to a row of other parked vehicles. Two dry chemical extinguishers were used by the apparatus driver on the running fuel fire. Engine 5 was called to assist. Car 22 also responded. It took firefighters about an hour to extinguish the fire, overhaul and check the other vehicles for damage.
