Engine 1 reported they had a working basement fire and at 2051 hours, the box was re-dispatched for 1022 Oley St. This brought Engines 8 (running for 9), 13, 11 (safety), Ladder 3, and Tower 1. These other units arrived on scene within moments, as heavy smoke was pushing from the dwelling. Engine 1 secured a water supply and advanced a handline into the basement. Other units did a primary search of all floors and ventilated. The fire was quickly knocked down, and units worked on the first floor front room pulling away baseboards to check for extension. In all, 6 people were displaced (2 adults and 4 children). It is reported that furnishings were too close to the furnace, starting the fire. Most units were available within one hour.
