Units responded to 457 No. 12th Street this afternoon for a possible Carbon Monoxide incident. As units arrived, several of the occupants were outside complaining of various symptoms. Firefighters entered the home and began taking readings. More than 150ppm were present immediately and the heating system was shut down. On the 3rd floor of the residence, readings of 450ppm were detected. Crews then checked the exposures where readings were also high, both building were vacant.

Meanwhile, EMS personnel treated the occupants and transported them to the hospital. Five victims were taken from the incident and one other resident who was not in the building at the time of the call went to the hospital on their own. Reportedly, one of the victims was later transported to another hospital and admitted, the other five were treated and later released.
