Companies were dispatched to a reported garage fire in the rear of the 500 blk. of North 10th Street around 17:00 this evening.

During the response, the communications center advised responding units that juveniles were seen fleeing the garage after setting fire to it. Engine 1 arrived with Car 7 and stretched a 2 1/2 attack line down the alley to the rear of 521 Moss Street. Visible fire in the garage was quickly blackened down. Crews encountered fire in the roof and several other areas within the structure. The fire was placed under control a short time later and companies were on the scene for about a half hour overhauling. Engines 1, 13, 8(9), 3 safety Tower 1, Rescue 1, Medic 602 and Cars 7 and 3 responded.

On Friday, December 9, Police reported that they were questioning three youths in relation to this fire and another minor one that occurred soon after. Witnesses were reportedly able to identify the three. An investigation is continuing.
