Fire Marshal Janiszewski
is one of several members retiring recently but he is
noted, not only for his years of dedicated service to the 
Department,
but also for the contribution he made to investigating
and preventing fires for more than seven years. As the
Departments top investigator, he sifted through the burnt
remains of thousands of incidents and leaves with a proud
conviction rate from those determined to be suspicious. "FM10" also
instructed numerous children and elderly residents of the
City on fire safety and what to do if a fire does occur.
Much that has already been
said about Janiszewski doesn't need to be repeated except
to say that he will be sorely missed. What hasn't been written
are the personal memories that many of the Members have of
him and those are the things we will remember most. He has
been a good friend and colleague to us here at Readingpafire.com
as well, both in his position as Fire Marshal and, prior
to his promotion, as Firefighter on Engine 3 at the 3rd and
Court Station. We are honored to know him and wish him all
the best in his retirement, Congratulations!
