Dave Graybill came to Reading today, to hit a couple golf balls from the Pagoda. Why the heck would a guy come to our City to do this?
'Firefighter Dave' is crossing the USA in a golf cart and hitting golf balls all along the way. The Brother from Glendale, Arizona is part of Golf Across the USA and is raising money for various charities, including the 'IAFF Burn Foundation'. Dave is winding down his trek and stopped in Reading on his way to Philadelphia.
Last night Dave and his Caddy stayed at the Plum and Franklin Station and ate Dinner with the members of B Platoon. He turned down an offer to ride the rigs if they got a call, picking a good nights sleep instead. At the Pagoda Dave knocked about a dozen balls over the wall in expert form. Other personal on location then took a shot at the unique tee off and let's just say they at least hit the ball. The group of fire officials and media then followed Dave to the Fire Tower where our own Tower #1 was set up to give him another unique opportunity, to hit a ball off a fire truck. Dave said he's hit a ball off the roof of an Engine in Glendale but never teed off from a Tower, we aim to please! After lunch Dave and his party took off for a stop overnight in Allentown before continuing on to Philly, a group of members escorted him to his next stop.
