Fire Fighter Richard Kline retired after 30 years of service to the Reading Fire Department completing his last night shift on May 30th at 0800. Rich began his career with the Bureau of Fire on May 23, 1977. He served as an EMT on the “B” Platoon for several years and later as the Tiller man on Ladder 3 until the completion of his service.
Rich was honored at the Riverside Station by the firefighters of the “D” Platoon at the start of his last night shift. He was presented with a white touring hat and frilled white scarf to compliment his shiny red convertible Porsche automobile.
He plans to relax this summer and then decide his future plans. Best wishes from all the members of the Fire Department are extended to Richie. Enjoy your retirement!
