2005 Ride For Life

Although rain threatened to put a damper on
this years Annual Ride for Life the spirit of the event shown
through in the funds raised to fight Muscular Dystrophy.
Events on Saturday were trimmed back but many still braved
a mostly steady rain to take in some of the activities before
gathering at the VIP Party held at the Riveredge later in
the evening.
The Sun did finally break through the clouds
as the riders assembled for the Ride Sunday morning. As the Roaring
Thunder snaked
through Southern Berks County on it's way to the park,
participants were cheered on by several people gathered
at various locations along the route.
The
Reading Firefighters served bottomless cups of Reading Birch
Beer from their trailer at the park. We would like to thank
all those who helped at the event and at the hospitality
suite, Local 1803, the IAFF, Reading Carbonic, and MDA for
allowing us to be part of one of the largest fund raisers
for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of this kind in the
country.
