MVA on the West Shore By-Pass PDF E-mail

A vehicle rolls several times after being run up an embankment. Witnesses reported victims being thrown from the car. Four youths were involved, three of which were critical.

Update: One of the victims in the accident has died from their injuries.

A total of ten homes were damaged during an early morning 2nd alarm fire. Three occupants of the fire building escaped uninjured however several pets were lost.

Three homes burned during a two alarm fire that was started by children playing with a lighter according to investigators. One of the homes was occupied. Several firefighters were treated for minor injuries.

Box 621 was transmitted for the 600 block of North 9th street this afternoon. A single call was made to the communications center around 13:40 hours reporting a large volume of smoke in a vacant building. Engine Companies 9, 1, 11 along with Ladder 3, Tower 1, and the Rescue were immediately tapped out. Engine 13 filled out the card for the safety company assignment.

Engines 1 and 9 arrived together and began a stretch into the building. Crews encountered a burning TV set in the front section of the dwelling. The fire was contained within minutes with the other companies assigned to ventilate the property. FM 10 is investigating.

Two working fires occurred within minutes of each other. Starting around 04:45, a burning vehicle with extension and a structure on the other end of town. Firefighters were recalled to fill reserve apparatus.

A teen was ejected from a vehicle that crashed into a tree during an early morning accident just over the city line. Three victims in all were taken to the hospital.
