City line MVA PDF Print E-mail
Written by FF A. Kutz
Saturday, 02 June 2007

Shortly after 1am, an MVA was dispatched for "the area behind Albright College", E2(E9)-L3-R1-M603-and Car 6 responded. Crews asked for a better location and Communications triangulated the cell phone call to the 2100 Block of Oak Lane and now reported entrapment. E2 arrived on scene to find a heavily damaged vehicle into a tree with a victim ejected on the roadway and 2 victims entrapped. Car 6 advised Communications, city crews would be operating in Lower Alsace Township and their assistance wouldn’t be needed but to dispatch 2 additional Med Units, bringing M601 & M602 to the scene.

R1 & L3 went to work dismantling the vehicle to gain access to the patients with 2 sets of Jaws & O-Cutter, taking the roof and 2 doors. The 2 entrapped victims were extricated & boarded within 22 minutes of the FD arrival.

All 3 teenage victims were "Trauma Alerts" for RHMC with multiple injuries and the crew from E2 drove M602 and M603 to the hospital. The scene was cleared within the hour.
