Sunday, 29 July 2007
At 1953, Box 172 was tapped out for a reported dryer fire at 748 Summit Chase Drive. E14-E5-E3-L1-R1-M602-E1 Safety & Car 7 responded on the Box. E14 arrived at the 2 1/2 story end of row townhouse to find a medium smoke condition on the 2nd floor with visible flames showing behind the dryer in a 2nd floor bathroom. Utilities were secured to the residence and crews knocked the fire down with a dry chemical extinguisher while a dry 1 3/4 line was stretched to the 2nd floor. Fire was contained to the rear of the dryer & wall area, the area was checked with the thermal imager, wet down with a PW extinguisher and the building was mechanically ventilated. Crews cleared within the hour.
