Early Monday morning, box 45 was once again rung for the 300 blk of Heckmans Ct. Dispatch, receiving multiple calls of fire issuing from the 2nd & 3rd floor windows of a previous dwelling fire. Companies on the assignment included Engines 1,13,8 (9),3, Tower 1, Ladder 3, Rescue 1 & Medic 602. Engine 1 arrived and began an alley lay into the tight block. Eventually a second 2 1/2" alley line was stretched to back up the first. Initial attack was delayed due to flames burning dangerously close to a set of power lines. Ladder companies were also hindered, as ground ladders and honda lights had to be drug from over a block away.

A second alarm was struck at 0240 bringing Engines 5, 11, Ladder 1 & M601. Car's 1, 8, 10, 22 & 23 also responded. The fire was under control within an hour, with extensive overhaul. At one point during the fire, the integrity of the small buildings was in question when they began to sway. It was later found out that a FF performing overhaul on a ladder was actually moving the building. The fire has been deemed suspicious, and the city engineer would be evaluating the buildings stability. Companies began to leave the scene around 0500 hrs. Car 7 was in command.
