With numerous companies on the street for calls, box 724 was transmitted at 20:15 for a dwelling fire at 737 Gordon street. Engine 11 on a med run in the 400 block of W.Oley street was released by the Medic unit and arrived a minute later reporting heavy smoke showing 1st floor of a 2 story occupied MOR dwelling.
E3-E9-L1-S1(T1)-R1-M657-E5 Safety and Cars 2 & 9 were assigned to the Box.
A subsequent report stated fire showing from the basement door with a 1 and 3/4 inch line stretched. Fire involving the front of the basement was quickly knocked down and the dwelling searched and ventilated. Units reported zero visibility in the fire building and exposures B and D heavily charged with smoke.
It was reported the fire started in the area of the clothes dryer. Crews cleared within the hour and no injuries were reported. All city apparatus were on the street during the fire on numerous medical calls and a gas condition.
