Written by FF J. Batz
Tuesday, 11 July 2006
While downtown companies were busy with an overturned vehicle at 9th and walnut dispatch requested the Rescue be freed for a possible entrapment at Hampden Blvd and Amity Street. An assignment was immediately sent consisting if Engine 9, Ladder 3, Medic 602, and the Rescue wich was allready responding. Engine 9 arrived to find a dodge neon on it's roof with no one inside the vehicle. An off-duty Firefighter hearing the crash responded and offered aid to the driver who had removed herself from the wreckage. Witness's stated the vehicle was pushed into a parked car by another which fled the scene. Northeast companies remained on scene while the vehicle was rolled back onto it's wheels for transport. The driver was transported for evaluation.
