Three injured in Lancaster Avenue MVA PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Saturday, 10 December 2005

Around 22:00 tonight units were dispatched to the intersection of Lancaster Ave at Kenhorst Blvd for an MVA. Engine 14, Rescue 1, Medic 601 and Car 8 responded. Reports were given that one of the vehicles involved in the accident was previously involved in a chase through the city with police.

Car 8, responding, inquired about the safety of the scene and asked if police were on location. Meanwhile, Engine 14 arrived in the area and reported two vehicles in the intersection, multiple police units on location. The vehicle involved in the chase collided with another vehicle and ended up on the sidewalk. The person from the struck vehicle was not injured, however there were 3 injuries from the vehicle being chased, including one class 1 lying in the snow next to the vehicle and two "walking wounded". Two more medic units were requested. Firefighters assisted EMS and treated fluids on the roadway. Units cleared the scene in approximately a half-hour.

Reportedly, the vehicle's occupants were involved in a shooting outside of the city earlier in the evening. After a report was given to police about the shooting, the vehicle was spotted and an attempt to curtail the suspects was thwarted after they sped off. A chase through the icy city streets began and the vehicle made it's way south ending up in area of the accident.
