The IAFF training division has once again made their way to Reading, this time with the "Safe Response to Illicit Drug Labs" program. The 8 hour program is designed to give firefighters and other emergency service personnel the knowledge of how to recognize and deal with the ever-growing problem of illegal drugs and other illicit materials and the labs that process them.
The IAFF developed this course for those fire, rescue, Emergency Medical Service (EMS) personnel, and other first responders who may respond to incidents where illicit drug labs are present.
Firefighters were given scenarios and worked in teams to learn first hand to be more vigilant in their growing responsibilities. The IAFF has once again put together a quality program full of good information on Firefighter safety.
