Several dozen fire service investigators from around the country attended the Hands-on Vehicle Fire Investigation training co-sponsored by the the City of Reading Fire Department on September 20-22, 2005. This training module attempted to provide the participants with the practical and technical skills necessary to investigate and determine origin and cause of vehicle fires. During the hands-on session of the module, several vehicles were burned allowing attendees to gain a practical knowledge of these types of fires. Crews from Engine 3 and 14 were on hand to assist in extinguishing the fires.
