Engine 3 responded to a reported vehicle fire in an alley off North 6th and Woodward Streets at 23:51 tonight. Upon arrival firefighters found a sedan fully involved and went into service with the trash line.

A second alarm was sounded for apartment house fire On Sunday morning, February 17th, at 0203 hours. Box 723 was struck for the reported structure fire at Pear and Walnut Sts. Dispatch reported smoke showing from the Communications Center with reports of possible people trapped.

Box 428 was transmitted around midnight for a garage fire in the area of 200 block of north 9th street. Communications advised Car 7 multiple calls were received for a fire either in the rear of Moss or 9th streets.

Fire Prevention Lt. Kent Born spotted a plume of smoke in the area of the former Reading Railroad Yards. Upon driving several blocks, the Lt noticed the smoke was not dissipating. He proceeded to 6th and Amity streets to an entrance to the yards and found the source.
Engine 3, Ladder 1 and Car 9 responded to a special assignment on box 1612 to the Madison Building, 412 Washington Street around 19:00 this evening. Fire panel showed an alarm condition on the 6th floor in the annex, a 5 story addition of the building that houses federal courts and other offices.

Box 242 was dispatched just before 06:30 this morning for a fire in the 300 block of Orange Street. Engine 13 arrived and discovered fire blowing out the two 2nd floor windows in the front of the structure at 332 Orange, an end of row.

Engine 3, Ladder 1, Rescue 1 and Medic 601 were dispatched to 128 Elm Street for a possible Carbon Monoxide call early today. While en route, companies were advised that UGI was on scene and confirmed high CO and no response from occupant.

Firefighters responded to box 521 for a reported smoke condition at 1124 Mulberry Street this afternoon. Arriving companies reported smoke coming from the basement and advanced a line into the home. Crews encountered a working basement fire which was quickly extinguished.

Early this morning a person walking home from a New Years Eve party noticed smoke coming from a house in the 1200 blk of North 9th. He quickly ran to the 9th and Marion firehouse, rang the emergency bell and pull the manual fire alarm on the outside of the building alerting the D platoon crew.

At 23:52 hours, Engine 3 was dispatched to the 600 block of Buttonwood street for a vehicle fire. Engine 3 arrived within 2 minutes to find a small sedan heavily involved. The crew made quick work of the fire with the bumper mounted trash line and had the fire under control within 2 minutes.
