1035 hours / 541 South 11th Street / Box #212 / D Platoon

Companies dispatched for smoke in the basement and an odor of smoke in neighboring homes. Engine 1 arrived and assumed first-due, confirming an odor of smoke on the first floor and a haze in the basement. It was also noted that lights in the home were very dim. Investigation revealed a melted buss fuse in the basement. While companies were investigating the nature of the smoke condition, a report of a dwelling fire at 1000 Cotton St. was received.

1045 hours / 1000 Cotton Street / Box #212 / D Platoon

Companies were dispatched for a report of a fire in the laundry room. Arriving on scene, companies reported smoke showing from the rear of the home. A fire was discovered burning to the rear of a dryer. The fire was quickly knocked down with a pressurized water extinguisher. Power to the dryer was removed and the home was vented. Companies were on scene for approximately 25 minutes.

0906 Hours/Rt. 422 Eastbound/D Platoon The rescue assignment was dispatched for a vehicle accident on the West Shore Bypass outer loop between Lancaster Ave. and Penn St. Engine 5 arrived with a motorcycle accident in the area in which nightly road construction had begun.

These photos were sent in after a single vehicle accident sent a driver off the bypass causing the car to roll 4 times before stopping on Brentwood Industries property. The driver was taken to RHMC Trauma Center.
