1355 Hours/ 1300 Block of Orchard Rd/ C Platoon-
The rescue assignment was sent to the 1300 block of Orchard Rd for a male impaled on a fence. Medic 3 was in the area and quickly arrived on scene, confirmed the report, and started ALS treatment of the patient. Car 3 arrived and reported 1 male impaled in the leg in two spots on a wrought iron fence. Rescue crews worked for about 15 minutes to remove a section of the fence to transport with the patient to the hospital. Once the patient was in Medic 3, Rescue 1 and Car 3 followed EMS to the emergency room in case hospital staff needed more of the fence removed with FD tools. The rest of the assignment was made available.
