21:25 hrs / 121 West Elm Street / Box 0301 / C Platoon
The box was transmitted for a report of the living room in the home on fire at the address noted. Engine 3 arrived at a 3-story end-of-the-row dwelling with heavy fire from the 1st floor extending to the 2nd. The engine company stretched a 1 3/4" handline and had water on the fire within 45 seconds after having arrived on scene. Car 3 (J. Stoudt, Jr) established command, reporting searches underway and the bulk of the fire knocked-down at 21:32 hrs. Crews entered the adjoining home to verify that it was unoccupied and that the fire had not extended to that property.
While all searches proved negative, a canine was removed from the home of origin and reunited with the family. The fire was placed under control with overhaul at 21:46 hours. Both UGI and MetEd were on scene to secure the utilities.
The Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating while the Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupants. There were no injuries to either civilians or firefighters reported.
