0745 hrs / 136 Greenwich Street / Box 0704 / B/D Platoons
During the morning shift change, the box was transmitted for multiple calls of a house on fire at 136 Greenwich St. Berks County Communications advised Car 5 that they could see a column from the Courthouse cameras. Car 5 arrived to a 3 story end of the row with fire in a rear detached garage extending to the dwelling. Engine 7 arrived and stretched a 2.5" handline to the garage and knocked the fire while crews searched the vacant dwelling and adjoining property for extension. With minimal extension to the dwelling and all fire contained, the fire was placed under control at 0811hrs. The Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating.
