0203 Hours/ 609 Summit Ave/ Box 0402/ A Platoon-

Companies were dispatched for reports of smoke coming from a house. Engine 5 arrived to find smoke coming from a 2 story stand alone, and Car 2 declared a working fire. Engine 5 stretched a hand line to the interior and knocked down the fire while other crews began searching. During the operation a dog was located and removed from inside. EMS provided care to the canine and ARL was contacted and transported the dog to the animal hospital. The dog is expected to survive. No one was home at the time of the fire and the Office of Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.
