After a very successful t-shirt fundraiser and the addition of private donations, the Reading Firefighters were able to raise $3,200 towards the purchase of toys for the salvation army. The toys will be presented this Friday at the annual Y102 Christmas party hosted at California Bar & Grill.

On Monday night September 22nd, Reading City Council approved William Stoudt Jr. as the city's fire chief. Chief Stoudt is expected to begin the new job on October 1st. Stoudt was hired on June 30th of 1988.

The Reading Firefighters recently returned home after attending the 41st annual MDA Softball Tournament hosted by the PG County Firefighters Local 1619. The tournament featured many changes this year as the new director wants to breathe new life into the event.
