The Reading Fire Ice Hockey Team played the Harrisburg Fire hockey team this morning in Harrisburg at the Twin Ponds East rink. The Reading team played short handed with only ten players (one borrowed from Harrisburg's team) and Matt Azrolan in goal.

Reading Firefighters once again congregated at the California Bar & Grill for the Y102 Christmas Party Toy Drive. The firefighters off loaded more than 2 truck loads of toys to help fill the back of truck from the Salvation Army.

As part of our 2013 Toy Drive, Reading Firefighters met at the Target store in Exeter to purchase toys for children in need. Our fundraising efforts consisted of a t-shirt sale, along with donations from the Reading Firefighters Local 1803, West Lawn Quoiting Association & Blue Cow Dairy.

The Reading Fire Department Fire Marshal's Office cunducted an EDITH (Exit Drills In The Home) this year at the Reading Elderly Housing complex at 100 North Front Street. The drill is held annually during Fire Prevention Week to raise public awareness and train firefighters.

Reading Firefighters recently participated in the 40th annual Muscular Dystrophy Softball Tournament in Prince Georges County Maryland. This years 3 day contest featured 57 teams from the across the United States and Canada.
