After nearly a month of delays, the Reading Firefighters finally got thier chance to celebrate Austin Whitmoyer's 13th Birthday. We first met Austin 2 years prior at a Local MDA boot camp, since then we have become great friends with Austin & his family.

After 5 years the Reading Police Hockey Team have finally secured a win in the 5th annual Battle of the Badges. The cops managed to shut-out the firefighters 6-0. Special congratulations to Firefighter Larry Moyer, who obtained an award for most penalties in the history of the tournament.

Reading Firefighters raised an impressive $780.00 in their T-shirt campaign for toys-for-tots. The idea originated from FF Kerry Miller, who suggested we design a special T-shirt for a fund-raiser for the USMC toys-for-tots program.

The 2nd Annual Christmas Classic Ice Hockey Tournament was held on Sunday at Body Zone. After some serious skating the firefighters beat the county police officers 8-1. All proceeds from the tournament benefit Toys-For-Tots.

Firefighters on the B platoon recently completed the national certification test in NFPA 1006 Vehicle/Machinery. The rest of the platoons will be testing in the next 2 weeks. The training began back in September and continued through November.
